Our internships offer flexible schedules, payment in scholarship form and the opportunity to personalize your experience with specific skills you hope to learn. Summer - Ohio Beef Council Public Relations Intern

The full-time public relations internship will provide the successful candidate with excellent experience in communications and promotions through the coordination of numerous events and activities. The successful candidate will help with the planning, coordination and execution of all displays during the Ohio State Fair; assist with the Young Cattlemen's Conference and assist with other events and promotions. The internship will begin in mid-May and last until mid-August with flexibility based on course schedule. Application deadline is February 15.

Summer - Ohio Cattlemen's Association Internship

The full-time internship will provide the successful candidate with excellent experience in communications and promotions through the coordination of numerous events and activities. The successful candidate will help with the planning, coordination and execution of all Ohio Cattlemen's Association displays and food booths during the Ohio State Fair; assist with the Young Cattlemen's Conference and assist with other events and promotions throughout the summer. The internship will begin in mid-May and last until mid-August with flexibility based on course schedule. Application deadline is February 15.

Fall Semester - OCA & OBC Internship

The Fall Intern's responsibilities will focus on coordinating events and activities with both the Ohio Beef Council and Ohio Cattlemen's Association. Additionally, this position will help coordinate the kickoff for the OCA BEST program and membership drives while working with industry leaders to plan educational events for cattlemen throughout the state. Application deadline is July 1.

Spring Semester - Industry Relations Intern

Want to learn more about major beef industry events? The primary responsibilities of this internship include coordinating and executing the Ohio Beef Expo trade show. In addition, this intern will enhance their communication skills through promotion and advertisement of the Ohio Beef Expo. The candidate will help facilitate other various association activities and industry events. Application deadline is October 1.

OCA offers five internship positions for the Spring semester, beginning in January and continuing through the latter part of April depending on the position need. Each internship will require approximately 20 hours per week and are flexible based upon academic course schedules. 

Spring Semester - Member Services Intern

Members are the heart of the OCA. The Member Services intern’s responsibilities will focus on coordinating OCA’s membership campaigns and working with the county affiliates. This intern will provide support to Ohio Young Cattlemen’s programs and membership updates and newsletters. Additionally, this candidate will work with industry leaders while helping coordinate Cattleman at the Capitol and the membership booth in the Ohio Beef Expo trade show. Application deadline is October 1.

Spring Semester - Marketing & Communications Intern

This internship is ideal for the student who wants to refine their communication skills in social media, graphic design and more. This intern will be responsible for Annual Meeting and Ohio Beef Expo press releases both prior to and after the events. The candidate will also assist with the production of the Ohio Cattleman magazine and help develop social media plans for the Ohio Beef Expo. This intern will also help facilitate various association activities and industry events while providing opportunities to learn more about photography and multimedia. Application deadline is October 1.

Spring Semester - Youth Activities Intern

Help foster the next generation of industry leaders in this position that will help coordinate the Ohio Beef Expo Junior Show including fundraising and show management. In addition, the intern will work closely with the Beef Exhibitor Show Total (BEST) Program throughout the season which includes being on the road to attend the shows and assist the youth program coordinator with administrative duties. The candidate will assist with other various association activities and industry events. Application deadline is October 1.

Spring Semester - Beef Improvement Intern

Herd improvement is crucial to the Ohio's beef industry. The Beef Improvement intern’s responsibilities include the organization of the Ohio Beef Expo breed shows and sales and the Genetic Pathway. The intern will help coordinate and execute producer education programs such as Beef 509/510 and Beef Quality Assurance. The candidate will also assist with other various association activities and industry events. Application deadline is October 1.
