Lane Manning of the Northern Burnouts Band to judge Ohio Cattlemen’s Association BEST Program Celebrity Showdown Jan. 26
The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association’s (OCA) Beef Exhibitor Show Total (BEST) youth development program will co-host the annual Celebrity Showdown in conjunction with the Clark County Cattle Battle on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the Champion’s Center in Springfield, Ohio. The celebrity judge for 2024 is Lane Manning, lead singer from the Northern Burnouts.
The seeds of the Northern Burnouts sound took root in Midwest Ohio, where founding members Lane Manning and Joe Mansion were raised. After playing music for most of their lives, they came together bringing their rock/country sound to venues as east as Pennsylvania and as west as Kansas. Manning is no stranger to the cattle industry, he grew up showing cattle around the Midwest with his family, then followed his interest in the beef industry to OSU ATI where he majored in Beef Production. Manning and the Burnouts have participated in several OCA events including the Ohio Beef Expo and the Cattlemen’s Gala, and now the BEST program Celebrity Showdown.
BEST exhibitors will have the opportunity to design costumes for their cattle and exhibit them in front of Manning by raising money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Central Ohio. A minimum of $100 must be raised by each exhibitor in order to participate.
Donations can be made online and attributed to a BEST participant’s name through the form on OCA’s website to help them reach their fundraising goal. Incentive prizes will be awarded to the community service top fundraisers at the BEST program’s awards banquet on May 4, 2024.
A live auction for additional fundraising will also be held Jan. 26, following the Celebrity Showdown. All proceeds will be donated to RMHC.
