Ohio Cattlemen's Foundation Scholarships

Several college scholarships are available to beef industry youth through the Ohio Cattlemen's Foundation. These scholarships are administered through the Ohio Cattlemen's Foundation in conjunction with the following organizations and individuals. Application deadlines are noted next to the scholarship names. 

High school seniors and current college students enrolled in a two or four-year college or university studying a beef or agricultural related field are welcome to apply. Scholarship recipients will be awarded at the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association’s (OCA) Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet in Feb.

Tagged for Greatness Scholarship - Application Deadline: Oct.31

Four $1,000 scholarships are offered through the Tagged for Greatness program where proceeds are generated from the sale of Ohio beef specialty license plates sold at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) office. 

Cattlemen's Country Club Scholarship - Application Deadline: Oct. 31

Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded from funds raised at the Cattlemen’s Country Club putt-putt golf course at the Ohio State Fair.

Saltwell Expo Scholarship - Application Deadline: Oct. 31

Two $1,000 scholarships will be sponsored by Saltwell Western Store, owned by Jay and Sally Puzacke and the Ohio Beef Expo. The scholarship is funded by a percentage of sales from the official line of Expo clothing sold through Saltwell’s trade show booth at the Ohio Beef Expo.

Noah Cox Memorial Scholarship - Application Deadline: Oct. 31

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Noah Cox who passed away in May of 2017. 

Cattlemen's Gala Scholarship - Application Deadline: OcT. 31

Twelve $1,000 scholarships will be offered through proceeds raised from the Cattlemen’s Gala Celebration and Fundraiser. 

Bill tOM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION DEADLINE: oCT.31

One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high senior or college student who is enrolled in a two-year or four-year Ohio college or university seeking an Agricultural degree. The recipient’s application will be evaluated similar to other Foundation scholarships but will also include an additional section for the applicant to express their financial need.

Bill tOM MEMORIAL SUCCESS GRANT - APPLICATION DEADLINE: oCT.31

One $1,500 success grant will be awarded to a young person returning to the farm. Funds can be used for purchasing farm equipment, cattle, or to offset the cost of learning a trade skill - such as diesel mechanics, welding school, artificial insemination, or embryo transfer classes. Eligible applicants are graduating high school seniors through 25 years of age. The recipient’s application will be evaluated based on their financial need for the grant.

lIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM SCHOLARHSIPS - OSU Students

Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to Ohio residents who are members of the Ohio State University junior and senior General Livestock Judging teams. One scholarship will be awarded for the OSU Columbus campus team and one for the OSU ATI Wooster campus team. Preference shall be given to applicants who demonstrate interest in the beef industry and/or are involved in the Ohio Cattlemen's Association. large animal vet scholarships - OSU Students

Two scholarship will be awarded to third or fourth-year veterinary students who have demonstrated interest in practicing large animal (food/farm) medicine. Preference shall be given to candidates whose work, research or community involvement demonstrates interest in the beef industry or are involved in the Ohio Cattlemen's Association, and plan to practice in the state of Ohio. Scholarships may be awarded in varying amounts based on student enrollment, available funding and other factors.  Current Ohio State University students enrolled in the College of Veterinarian Medicine will receive an email at the end of the Autumn semester with the scholarship application information. Ohio CattleWomen Scholarships

Ohio CattleWomen Scholarships - Application Deadline: December 15

Up to five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to outstanding students entering their college junior or senior year. Priority will be given to applicants attending a school in Ohio. Applicants' majors may vary, however, preference will be given to a major in agriculture, specifically relating to beef. Applicants must be maintaining a 2.75 GPA or higher.
